MEPI Legal and Business Fellowship Program Applications Due

The Legal and Business Fellowship Program (LBFP) is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and will provide young women in business, law and science and technology an opportunity to practice their skills and gain experience to help them grow as professionals and advocate for an improved investment climate and legal reforms. The four-month program will be conducted in the United States from April 21, 2009 to August 18, 2009. Eligible applicants will be considered through a transparent merit-based process that will identify leaders with strong English language skills who demonstrate maturity, flexibility, and commitment to their professional goals. Women from under-served and under-represented populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Kuwait Economic Society Corporate Ambassadors Event

November 19 - Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry The Kuwait Economic Society, a founding member of the MENA Businesswomen’s Network, will host its first Corporate Ambassadors Event November 19th and 20th in Kuwait City. The event, “Strategic Risk Management: Navigating the Global Financial Crisis” will feature two prominent businesswomen from the U.S. who will participate in panel discussions and lead interactive workshops focused on risk management: A. Christine Eppstein, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, McGuire Woods Consulting; and Rochelle M. Costrell, Associate Director, Garrison Financial Institute, Walton College of Business. The two day event will also feature prominent Kuwaiti business people and is an opportunity for networking and information exchange around the critical issue of risk management.
