MEPI Legal and Business Fellowship Program Applications Due

The Legal and Business Fellowship Program (LBFP) is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and will provide young women in business, law and science and technology an opportunity to practice their skills and gain experience to help them grow as professionals and advocate for an improved investment climate and legal reforms. The four-month program will be conducted in the United States from April 21, 2009 to August 18, 2009. Eligible applicants will be considered through a transparent merit-based process that will identify leaders with strong English language skills who demonstrate maturity, flexibility, and commitment to their professional goals. Women from under-served and under-represented populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Official ceremony of “Reprofilage” project

June 30 - Casablanca After the success of the first promotion of "Reprofilage” project in 2007, AFEM, in partnership with EFE Morocco (Moroccan Foundation for Education for Employment) and the University Hassan II Casablanca has renewed the project in 2008. AFEM, whose mission is to respond to difficulties in recruiting qualified human resources and adapted to company’s needs, conducted a study and identified the importance of providing young women skills needed to integrate the workplace. By developing a partnership with EFE Morocco, UH2C, IYF and ANAPEC, AFEM beneficiaries have been winning its training high levels to meet their member company’s needs, and with the support of the University Hassan II Casablanca and its trainers, 24 candidates have attended this training with an escort to their employability. Under the closure of the training-employment "Reprofilage", a ceremony certificates was held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 17:30 at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the University Hassan II - Casablanca. Mrs. Iraqui president of the AFEM, Mr President Barkaoui University Hassan II Casablanca, and Mr Abbad Andaloussi President EFE Morocco who have contributed to the success of the project participated to this ceremony The meeting was also marked by signature of agreements with partners who will accompany the AFEM in phase II of Reprofilage project.
