"Businesswoman stresses need for change in real estate sector"

In Saudi Arabia, businesswoman Shirooq Jamal Al-Sulaimani is competing in elections for a position on the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Real Estate and Construction Development Committee. She is running against 58 male candidates and one other female candidate. By winning the election Al-Sulaimani hopes to overhaul the real estate industry in the country in order to allow Saudi women to contribute to the industry (which is one of Saudi’s prominent economic sectors) and increase the country’s competitiveness internationally.
