In a cabinet statement, Economic Development Minister Osman Mohamed Osman highlighted Egypt’s economic growth of an annualized 5.9% and noted the near full recovery from the global downturn. Economists agreed that Egyptian growth is accelerating. The tourism, construction and the information technology sectors in the last quarter significantly experienced increased growth. Egyptian officials forecast that within this fiscal year the country’s economy could grow by as much as 5.9%.
