"Female entrepreneurs eye investment opportunities"

A recent report reveals that female investors in the Gulf hold Dh40 billion in the region’s wealth. Female entrepreneurs are meeting great success and are looking to enhance their current assets through investment opportunities. Some women entrepreneurs feel that their success is due to the Emirati and local government’s support for entrepreneurs – regardless of gender. In addition to the traditional role of female entrepreneurs in the fashion, home and PR-oriented businesses, the Emirates is seeing an rise in female financial investors – women seeking high-level investments to increase their portfolios. Overall, 43% of women in the region feel that their gender has not affected career prospects; 22% say that their gender had a positive impact on their career prospects; and 76% state that they hold senior-ranking positions in their companies – statistics showing a progressive shift for the role women in the region.
