"Jordan hosts 1st conference to activate joint Arab economy"

The first conference to establish and encourage Arab economic integration will begin Tuesday in Amman. Participants will represent the private and public sectors from 22 Arab countries, and include officials from the Arab League, the Arab Economic Unity Council, and the General Secretariat of the Arab Union of Importers and Exporters. The conference aims to activate and improve the Arab Free Trade Zone; promote the creation of the Joint Arab market; examine new banking supervisory policies and investment opportunities; as well as reviewing each Arab country’s industrial abilities to increase their competitiveness among global industry giants.
