Participants of a two-day conference, organized by the Arab Exporters and Importers Union, called for the “improvement and activation” of a joint investment plan proposed by the Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU). During the event, 300 businessmen and officials from twenty-two Arab countries showed support for the establishment of a joint Arab customs union and the uniting of customs tariffs and standards across all Arab countries. Additionally, participants recommended the creation of a higher body for Arab strategic planning and stressed the importance of training the Arab work force.
