"Tunis International Film Festival lauds Women in Cinema "

This year, the annual Tunis International Film Festival continued in its mission to honor women as a whole, while emphasizing and celebrating their role within the film industry. Women around the world continue to greatly contribute to the industry through editing, acting and directing. In specific to Tunisia, one Tunisian director commended the country for promoting the role of women in the industry, while a cameraman highlighted the shear number of women who take part in film there. The annual festival began in 2007 and showcases films that are either produced by, directed by or starring women.
