In cooperation with the Businesswomen’s Committee of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) of the U. S. Department of the State and Vital Voices, Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society (BBS) is organizing “The Second Business Exchange Forum: Bahraini and American Experiences” on the 28th and 29th September 2009.
The Speakers Bureau Program 2009 and the MENA Businesswomen’s Network aim to build the capacity of businesswomen in the MENA region, activating women’s role in decision making and advocacy through associations with civil society. The objective of the Program is to empower the businesswomen in the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region by establishing a region –wide Hub Network.
The event is a “Corporate Ambassadors Program” and brings a delegation of U. S. CEOs and Senior Executives to share their experience in relation to critical business topics of interest in the region.
More than 200 participants are expected to attend this event. The featured speakers are three American Corporate Ambassadors: Ms. Geri Swift (Founding President of the Women's Business Development Center (WBDC),) Ms. Linda Denny (President of The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), Ms. Luz Hopewell (Director for the Office of International Trade in the Office of Capital Access at the U.S. Small Business Administration). They will be sharing their business experience with their counterparts into region.
The event will also feature a renowned Arab Speakers: from Saudi Arabia, Ms. Hind Al Zahid and from Bahrain Mr. Abdulellah Al Qassimi, Dr. Hashem Hussain, and Mr. Adel Al Safar, Dr. Zakaria Hijris, Dr. Abdul Aziz Abul, Ms. Hind Al Zahid.
