Maali Alasousi is an entrepreneur in media and civil society development in the Arabian Gulf region. Alasousi is specialized in media consulting, planning and building sustainable relationships with national and international media authorities. She is the founder of “United Purse Group” that offers media campaign and event management services. Also, she currently works as a Coordinator for the Ministry of Information and Media Coordinator for “Hala February National Festival”. Alasousi is the first young female from the Arabia Gulf to produce a cultural and tourism movie in the Republic of Kenya which is now aired in several satellite channels.

Alasousi is an activist in the society in empowering women in education and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She is a founder of “We Support Program” in the Republic of Yemen which offered 300 scholarships for females who live rural areas. Alasousi is a founder of “Handcraft Network Project” also in Yemen to support artisans, who live below the poverty line, to make a sustainable income .

Alasousi is currently the Executive Manager of Kuwait Hub at Kuwait Economic Society (KES) as well as the Manager of “Empower” Project at KES with the cooperation of Microsoft. Also, she co-founded Business and Professional Women Chapter in the state of Kuwait in 2009.

Alasousi graduated on 2002 from Virginia Commonwealth University holding a B.S in “Tourism and Recreation” as well as minor in “General Business”. On 2007, she earned “Civil Society Mobilizing” certificate from Rady School of Management-UCSanDiego. Also she received many certificates from the USA and MENA region in field of media, event planning and civil society development.
